2025 Production: "Cathedrals"

For our 2025 season, Synergy Percussion proudly presented "Cathedrals" — a show designed to explore the awe-inspiring beauty and strength of architectural wonders and the human spirit they represent.

Much like the grand cathedrals that stand tall across the world, this production challenged our students to think beyond just music and movement. Every note, formation, and dynamic shift was crafted to echo the feeling of walking through towering stone halls, where light filters through stained glass and sound reverberates in endless space.

The show invited both performers and audiences on a journey through themes of resilience, craftsmanship, and faith in human potential. Just as cathedrals were built stone by stone over generations, our students built this program together — with hard work, artistry, and teamwork.

"Cathedrals" was more than a performance; it was a celebration of the spaces that shape us, the communities that support us, and the inner strength that carries us forward.

The 2025 season marked another incredible chapter in Synergy’s journey. With a growing roster of dedicated students and staff, we proudly continued to provide meaningful opportunities for students from the Rio Grande Valley — many of whom are first-generation and from low-income households — to experience high-level music education and performance.

Our students gained hands-on experience through:

  • Weekend rehearsals designed to challenge and develop their skills.

  • Masterclasses and clinics with industry professionals.

  • Travel opportunities to regional and national competitions.

  • Access to community performances and educational workshops.

Masterclasses & Clinics:
This season, we were honored to host masterclasses led by world-class educators including:

  • Roger Carter — world-renowned educator, performer, and Tama artist rep. Roger led an unforgettable masterclass where he not only covered core fundamentals and a music block with both students and staff, but also hosted a hands-on session on the care, handling, and new features of Tama’s latest drums — giving our program cutting-edge knowledge straight from the source.

  • Nic Rundell — celebrated percussionist and instructor who shared his extensive expertise and passion for the craft.

  • and more influential voices from across the marching and percussion community.
